Karl co-founded Marport Canada Inc. in July 2003 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer until December 2011. Karl has over 30 years of technical and executive experience in communications, electronic navigation systems, and digital imaging. Karl co-founded Telepix Imaging Inc., a world leader in digital imaging software and photo e-commerce which was purchased by a European photo equipment manufacturer for over $50 million. Karl was twice named as a Top 50 CEO by Atlantic Business magazine. He was inducted into the Newfoundland and Labrador Business Hall of Fame in May, 2012. Karl also serves as an entrepreneur mentor at Memorial University’s Genesis Centre.
Ms. Cahill is CEO and co-founder of PanGeo Subsea, a technology and service provider of high-resolution 3D sub-bottom acoustic imaging technology. Under her leadership, PanGeo has successfully attracted international private equity to underpin the commercialization of PanGeo’s technology to a global market, while showcasing its St. John’s office as its global centre of excellence for acoustic innovation and engineering.
A professional engineer and graduate of Memorial University, Ms. Cahill has over 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector and most recently the renewable energy sector. She started her career in the mid ‘80’s with Norsk Hydro in Norway. Having been exposed to the success of the Norwegian supply chain, she returned to Newfoundland in the early 90’s and established her own engineering and consulting company MNC Group. With a strong vision for global export, Ms. Cahill established clients in Texas, the United Kingdom, Norway, Chile and the Middle East.
In 1998 Ms. Cahill co-founded Pan Maritime Energy Services Inc., a project management and engineering company. As President, she provided the leadership and vision to expand the interests of the company here in Newfoundland as well as to establish an office in Doha, Qatar. This move facilitated Pan Maritime’s access to ongoing markets in both the upstream and downstream sectors.
Mr. Travaglini is a technology and capital markets entrepreneur, and a highly experienced M&A professional. Prior to founding 4Front Capital Partners, he owned a mid-market investment and merchant banking consulting firm based out of Toronto, Ontario. In this role Mr. Travaglini consulted to large multinationals, funds and family offices worldwide on wealth preservation, mergers and acquisitions, and international investments. Prior to that Mr. Travaglini co-owned an investment bank with offices in Toronto, London, Singapore and Sydney Australia. This company did both public and private transactions totaling over $250 million.
Mr. Travaglini co-founded a systems integration company which had revenues of over $55 million. Mr. Travaglini has held sales positions with Sun Microsystems and Unisys Corporation.
Mr. Travaglini has held board positions and executive management positions in both public and private companies in Canada and abroad. He holds an Honors Degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a graduate of the Quantum Shift Executive Management program sponsored by KPMG and Ivey School of Business.
Mr. Puddister is the Co-Chairman of Pennecon Limited, a leading Canadian heavy civil construction, energy, and real estate business. Mr. Puddister’s 20 years of experience covers the full gamut of heavy civil expertise, from hydro-electric and wind energy developments to oil and gas, transportation, mining, infrastructure and marine construction. He is also a majority shareholder and the Chief Executive Officer of Newcrete (a group of concrete companies), a professional engineer and graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) program, and Atlantic Business Magazine’s CEO of the Year for 2016.
For the last 8 years, Mr. McEwan has been the Chief Financial Officer of WiLAN (TSX:WIN), an industry leading intellectual property (IP) licensing company. Mr. McEwan has more than 20 years of experience in finance and executive leadership in public and private high tech companies. He was the CFO of Breconridge Manufacturing Solutions, and the CFO of Calian Technologies Ltd. before being promoted to President and CEO. He led the IPO of Microstar Software on the TSX in 1993 and has extensive experience with corporate financings and M&A transactions.
